Introduction
Al-Khawarizmi Astronomy Complex is one of the facilities that are provided by Melaka State Government in order to study and to explore the growth and the mystery of the universe. Melaka Mufti Department has been honored to realizing the State Government's ambition.

Who is Al-Khawarizmi?

Open to public since 2006, Al-Khawarizmi Astronomy Complex was named after the great ancient astronomer Imam Al-Khawarizmi.

Abu Abdullah Mohammad Ibn Musa al-Khawarizmi known as Father of Algebra,
He was born at Khawarizm (Kheva), south of Aral Sea, Uzbekistan.
Al Khawarizmi was a great Muslim mathematician, astronomer and geographer.

His development of astronomical tables was a significant contribution to the field of astronomy, on which he also wrote a book. The contribution of Khawarizmi to geography is also worth mentioning, in that not only did he revise Ptolemy's views on geography, but also corrected them in detail as well as his map of the world.Other contributions include original work related to clocks, sundials and astrolabes.

Information of Al-Khawarizmi Astronomy Complex

At this moment, the Observatory and the Planetarium has been fully functioning, whereby the Training Centre is expected to serve end of year 2007.

According to the Science Officer in Al-Khawarizmi Astronomy Complex, the location of this complex is very strategic because you can have a good view at the sun as it is free from other obstruction.

There were three main buildings in the Complex, which are the observatory, the Planetarium and the Training Centre. In the expansion of Al-Khawarizmi Astronomy Complex, Malaysian have the opportunity to study and appreciate astronomy deeper.

In the expansion of Al-Khawarizmi Astronomy Complex, our community has the opportunity to study and appreciate astronomy deeper. Apart from that, we hope that today’s generation has the potency to bring the glory of astronomy in today’s world.
